Exciting News from Sugar Mountain Ski Resort for the 2025 Season
Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is once again gearing up for an exciting winter season filled with enhancements designed to elevate your mountain experience. This year, the resort truly lights up the slopes with the installation of twenty new LED slope lights on the Lower Flying Mile. These powerful, energy-efficient lights will illuminate the popular trail, creating a brighter and safer environment for night skiing and snowboarding.
To complement these lighting improvements, the resort’s snowmaking fleet has grown even stronger with the addition of three brand-new fully automated SMI Super PoleCat snowmaking machines. Two of these high-capacity units are positioned along the Northridge slope, while another has been installed midway down Flying Mile, ensuring even more consistent snow coverage across key areas of the mountain.
Beyond the slopes, creativity is taking center stage at Sugar Mountain this year. Muralist Ashley Roberts has spent the summer and fall transforming the Summit Express parking garage into a colorful work of art. Guests arriving at the base area will be greeted by vivid, mountain-inspired murals that celebrate the spirit and scenery of Sugar Mountain.
As North Carolina’s largest snow-sports resort, Sugar Mountain continues its dedication to providing exceptional skiing, snowboarding, tubing, ice skating, and snowshoeing experiences for guests of all ages.
