Sugar Mountain Ski Resort

Exciting News from Sugar Mountain Ski Resort for the 2024 Season

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is gearing up for an incredible winter season with a series of exciting upgrades designed to enhance your experience on the slopes. Partnering with SKIDATA, the resort is introducing a cutting-edge RFID chip-based ticketing system that will revolutionize the way guests purchase lift and slope tickets .Upon your initial on-site purchase, you will receive a personalized RFID card with your name and customer code displayed on it. Your reuseable RFID lift/slope card can be reloaded online www.skisugar.com/reload or on-site beginning one day prior to your next visit from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. or until sold out. For tubing and ice-skating fans, tickets will be available online only, making it easier than ever to hit the slopes or the rink.

Among the many upgrades, skiers and snowboarders can look forward to a wider, more spacious Northridge slope. This beloved trail, stretching from the mountain’s 5,300-foot summit, now boasts double its original width and brand-new LED lighting for a brighter, safer night skiing experience. Resort owner Gunther Jochl shared his excitement: “Giving skiers and riders more space and brighter night session runs always makes for a more pleasurable experience.”

The snow will be better than ever this year, thanks to the installation of three fully automated SMI snowmaking machines on Northridge and another on Flying Mile. To ensure ample snow production throughout the season, a new centrifugal compressor has been installed, replacing two aging ones and boosting overall snow coverage.

As always, Sugar Mountain takes pride in its perfectly groomed slopes, and this season, they’re taking it to the next level. With the addition of a Pisten Bully 600 winch cat and two new Pisten Bully 600 groomers, the resort’s iconic corduroy finish will be maintained daily. You can expect smooth, meticulously groomed runs twice a day, ensuring top-notch skiing and snowboarding conditions.

With these advancements in ticketing technology, slope expansion, snowmaking, and grooming, the upcoming winter season promises to be one of the best yet.
