The Dive-In public swimming pool and water park opened in 2019 as part of Avery County Parks & Recreation. It’s located in our county seat of Newland, about 9 miles from Sugar Mountain. The $3 million heated pool complex features locker rooms, family restroom, accessible zero entry, two slides, spray fountains and diving board. It is fun for all ages on our summer days.
The outdoor pool’s maximum depth is 10 feet and lifeguards are on duty. Loungers are available, but bring towels and sunscreen. The Dive-In is open every day Memorial Day weekend through mid August, then weekends through Labor Day Weekend: Monday-Saturday 10 AM-5 PM and Sunday 2-5 PM. Admission is just $4/adult ages 10+ and $3/child.
