June 30, July 1, 2, 3, 4: Lift Rides & Bike Park
For both scenic riders and bikers, the Summit Express chairlift operates all day Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday 10 AM-6 PM. Read more about the Bike Park and Lift Rides. Find food and refreshments in the base lodge all day. Address: 1009 Sugar Mountain Dr, Sugar Mountain.

July 4th Fireworks
Where to watch the fireworks? The most unique and up-close vista is from Sugar’s 5,300’ peak via the Summit Express chairlift (fee) running 7-10 PM. Or watch from the lodge (free admission & parking) and enjoy live music on the deck 6-9 PM. They begin just after 9 PM. Also watch from the parking areas at the resort. Address: 1009 Sugar Mountain Dr, Sugar Mountain.

Summit Crawl

July 4: Summit Crawl
At the Sugar Mountain Resort, join all ages in the challenging Summit Crawl. Run, hike, climb, or crawl from the lodge to Sugar Mountain’s 5,300-foot peak by way of the Easy Street, Gunther’s Way, and Northridge ski slopes. The 1.2-mile route climbs 1,200 feet in elevation! There is no time limit, so you don’t have to be a marathon runner. Entry fee ($45 adults, $35 children 12 & under) includes a t-shirt and downhill transportation on the Summit Express lift. The Crawl starts at 9 a.m. on the 4th and winners in each category get medals. Advance registration required, limited to 400 people. Register in-person M-F from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. or online anytime until 4 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2023. Packet pick-up on July 3 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and July 4 from 7 a.m. until 8 a.m. No same day registration. Get info and register online at www.skisugar.com/crawl.

July 1 & 2: Art on the Greene
Held on the grounds of the Historic Banner Elk School with hand-made arts and crafts from select regional and national artisans. Free admission. 10 AM-5 PM. Address: 185 Azalea Cir SE, Banner Elk. Read more.

July 4th: Banner Elk Parade
11 AM until Noon, down Main Street. Followed by a Duck Race & Party Noon until 3 PM in Tate-Evans Town Park with old fashioned games and food vendors.
