Memorial Day Weekend 2024 Special Events (May 24-27)

May 24-27: Scenic Lift Rides
Ride the ski lift up to the top of Sugar Mountain at 5,300 feet. Take a picnic to enjoy the big views and hike out to the rocky summit. Read more.

Enjoy one of the most thrilling Bike Parks in the South. Ride the lift to the 5,300-foot summit and ride down 1,200 vertical feet on a network of trails. Read more.

May 25: Sugar Mountain Resort’s Food Truck Festival
Pick from a big a variety of food trucks in front of the ski lodge (1009 Sugar Mtn Drive) on Saturday, 11 AM-7 PM.  Enjoy live music too! See the list of food trucks & bands.

May 25-26: Art on the Greene
Browse dozens of tents loaded with top quality, handcrafted arts and crafts from regional and national artists in downtown Banner Elk. Art on the Green surrounds the lawn in front of the Historic Banner Elk School (185 Azalea Circle, Banner Elk), just 2.5 miles from the Village of Sugar Mountain. Read more.

May 27: Grillin’ & Chillin’ Live Music and Dinner Season Kick-Off
On Monday, head to the Sugar Mountain’s Golf and Tennis Club deck for live music 6-9 PM and a special dinner by the Caddyshack Cafe from 5:30 to 8:30 PM – with wine & beer available. Enjoy food, drinks and tunes on the big deck overlooking the golf course and panoramic mountain views. Wear your dancing shoes! Seating is also available inside. Rain or shine. Read more.
